pog yau

at approximately 10:07am today I recieved a call from Josephine. i knew it was bad news already cuz she never calls me.  I panicked. I was at work and couldnt pick up the phone. i decided to call my dad on my work phone. I asked him if grandma was okay and he said "yeah, shes the same as yesterday".  He asked if i had heard anything. and i told that i just received a missed call from josephine. and i thought that was odd. but he reassured me everything was okay.

Then i thought about it. and wondered if my dad would have recieved a call from my uncle.  I figured..no. he's probably in too much pain right now to call my dad. Josephine probably had more time and strength to call everyone on her phone list. so i knew that facebook would say something.  I logged in, and there it was. her status had been updated 2 seconds ago, and it said, "Josephine Vang knows her grandma loved her very much. RIP."

I stepped outside and returned Josies call. She was sobbing frantically. I could barely understand what she was saying. I suck at comforting, and i honestly didnt know what to say. i was shocked that it happened so fast. I didnt even get one last memory. She told me grandma had just left us, and her dad's just crying. At that moment I was wishing we were all together in one city.  I remember wen our Uncle left to OK, it was hard on everyone. and it made me realize how much of a backbone he was to our family. I knew how much he was hurting, he was someone who cared for everyone...and he was always showing us and telling us how much he loved us.  I wanted to be there for him.

the news spread like crazy. within half an hour the whole Liama family had heard about grandma.

Im still sitting here...thinking about when i saw her last.  The only image i have of her is one of her sitting on our couch at 530 in the morning.  She's sitting there because she spent the night.  I cant really see her face though because all of the lights are turned off...all but a dim night light on the far side of the room.  Everytime my mom told me to find a night light, i knew grandma was spending the night.  She needed one in the living room, and one in the bathroom.  But this particular morning on my way out, I say to her, "bye pog yau, im going to work." and she replies "bye, you work so early". then i say "yeah, are u going to be home later when i come home?" and she replied, "noo, i wont be here when you get home."

its like my nsync phase all over again

i've developed a new obsession. the twilight saga (yes, i've given in)..but who can help but to fall in love with edward cullen's character. the book describes him soo welll. i realize i've devoted alot of work time researching their photo shoots, magazines theyve appeared on..and i want to track every..little...thing! i cant let any of em slip pass me. i've even checked up ebay (and ebay is where every fan goes to get the rarest of rarest things!).

i dont think i'll take it quite as far as to go and make a fat scrapbook about em (which reminds me, i need to find my old nsync scrapbook)...but i'll do all the internet research i can on them. and watch/buy every movie that comes out. :)

sad to say..im back to the cool nu. :)

christmas is right around the corner

...and i'm not done shopping yet!

okay well i think i've done better than previous years, especially because im actually staying within budget this year ^_^ but for some reason..i still feel like i have alot to do still.

for one: the christmas lights arent even up yet! we barely put up the tree last friday---and its not the best, but megan did a good job. for a 16 year old :)

i still have to get the neighbors and relatives something nice for the holidays. but we usually end up getting them cookies or something.

i still have four more people to shop for, also a gift for my neice's birthday . oh wait ..but that means one for my brother. and my mother!

im in the process of trying to find something to give to my everyone in my department at work. but im thinking of just baking banana bread and dressing it up in a pretty holiday bag. yum. i love banana bread.

and something else.....trust me... there's just ALOT to do. and not much time left. i mean 10 DAYS till xmas. 10! and i dont know if putting up xmas lights is going to be worth it. because the neighbors will only have 10 days to enjoy it. its just really hard becuase its a 2 man job. and well...im only one person. and im not a man ^_^. but im aiming for wednesday. i hope.

another week W/O pay =/

yep, its time for another vacation (well..more like me helping sue drive her car back to cali...and enoying the sights while i do that)--only this time its going to be alot more tiring than the first! i'll be off of work at 130 today to catch my 4 o clock flight to minnesota! too bad cosette will be fast asleep when i reach the twin cities.  I should be landing in at about 1150---and im hoping for snow.

im so used to visiting the midwest during the summer, that i subconsciously packed shorts and tanks when i was putting together my clothes for the trip. but this will officially be my FIRST trip to the midwest with SNOW, and boy i better get some!

but even though this trip is going to consist of long drives and possibly hard labor at the OK new years, we're going to hit a bunch of cities! first stop will be kansas city, missouri: we'll only be staying there for a couple hours. then head to OK.  I was thinking we could visit my uncle and aunt before going to my sister's house---but if we get in late, say 11pm or so (which i think we might)--we might have to skip out on that. but we'll see how things go. all of this is just a play by ear for now.

after one night in OK, we should be heading to phoenix arizona. staying there for a couple hours. then head to vegas!--we'll be spending one night in vegas, and hopefully get to enjoy the nightlife there. but from what we initially planned out we will be getting into vegas tuesday night? and i know its vegas and all, sin city, whathaveyou...but do they have a nightlife all week long?? cuz there usually isnt anythign going on during the weekdays.. but if not, i guess we'll make the most of it...or just catch some shut-eye in the hotel before we make the long 12 hour trek home to california.

yeah, i know it doesnt sound like a week long trip, and heck we might even make it back home earlier than expected. but with road trips,  you never know what may happen, and you kinda just have to leave room for errors and surprises. our plan is to be home by wednesday night at the LATEST. that way we can kind of prepare thanksgiving festivities with the family.

on a side note, im broke. and xmas is just around the corner--as exciting as it is, i wish i could spoil my family, but wont be able to this year.
